Sometimes, it is necessary to eliminate a main or supporting character to keep the storyline progressing, especially when writing a series of books. This can create a shift in direction and allow for the introduction of new characters. While no one wants to see a beloved character killed off, there are moments when it is essential for maintaining reader engagement. A few unexpected twists can open new avenues for exploration as a writer. Remember, do not become too attached to any main character, as they may be here today and gone tomorrow.
